Barptolomaei Coclitis bononiensis, naturalis philosophiae ac medicinae doctoris, Physiognomiae & chiromantiae compendium

First published at Bologna, 1504, as Chyromantie ac physiognomie anastasis (with Alessandro Achillini's De chyromantiae principiis et physionomiae) Comprises a preface by Cocles, an anonymous handbook of physiognomy in 25 brief chapters, and "Andreae Corvi mirandvlani Absolutissima ratio chyromantiae." Title (A1r) within ornamental border (Heitz, X, 6). Cuts of 29 heads illustrate the Physiognomia. They are in pairs, except for one that is single. For most of the Chiromantia (D4r to O2v), each page consists of a diagram of the palm of a hand over its explanation in letterpress. The palms are on floral or foliate backgrounds, many of them printed white on black.
