Calender with astronomical and astrological notations and further tables Girdle book. English, 15th century. Cover and looped holder of plain tawed skin with stitched edging, designed to be worn on a chain at belt or girdle. The book contains a calendar with astronomical and astrological notations; each month or table is written on a piece of folded parchment and laid out for easy consultation while the book was being worn.
