Printer and date from colophon. The date on the engraved t.p. is 1573, retained from the 1st ed Dedication and prefatory epistle by Ortelius Heads of divinities and personifications engraved by Philippe Galle (see Bib. belgica), each in a roundel with broad border of strapwork and grotesquerie, incorporating 2 tablets for name of the figure represented and the coin from which it was taken. The 5 additional plates included in this ed. are characterized in Bib. belgica as being in the same style "Scriptorvm vetervm ac recentivm, qvi ex professo deorvm gentilivm historias vel imagines descripservnt, elenchvs"--P. [7] Bib. Belgica (1964-1970 éd.) Binding: marbled paper, half calf. Red spine label with title: DEORUM / DEARVMQVE / CAPITA. The edges red Plates of Library's copy numbered at foot in brown ink 1-59. In addition the 1st plate of each gathering is lettered B-Q at lower right corner
