Książka Ignacego Chodźko (1794-1861) – polskiego pisarza, przedstawiona została w formie pamiętnika. Autor pokazał w niej prywatne sceny z życia zaścianka, a także wydarzenia historyczne.Powieść zawiera – czerpane z dziecięcych wspomnień autora – malownicze opisy obyczajów szlachty litewskiej tuż przed zaborami i w okresie napoleońskim, a przede wszystkim barwne portrety postaci charakterystycznych : fikcyjnych i historycznych m.in. Radziwiłłowie i Napoleon. „Pamiętniki kwestarza” ujęta w dwóch tomach, wydana została w serii : Czytelnia Polska. The book by Ignacy Chodźko (1794-1861) - a Polish writer, was presented in the form of a diary. The author showed in it private scenes from the life of the backwater, as well as historical events. The novel contains - drawn from the author’s children’s memories - picturesque descriptions of the customs of the Lithuanian nobility just before the partitions and during the Napoleonic period, and above all colorful portraits of characteristic figures: fictional and historical, among others Radziwiłł and Napoleon. The diaries of the Quaestor are included in two volumes, published in the series: Polish Reading Room.
