A publication published in Gdańsk in 1872 documenting the creation and activity of the Masonic lodge “Victoria pod Trzema Ukoronowane Wieżami” (German: “Victoria zu den drei gekrönten Thürmen”) in Malbork (German Merienburg), whose name referred to the presentation of the coat of arms of arms of the city. The author of the publication, intended for the Freemasonry brothers, was the officer of the described Wolnumalarska lodge (German: Meister von der Stuhl) Julius Eduard Rauch. Historically, at a time when the Freemasons were primarily craftsmen (“Freemasonry” is nothing but a slightly distorted expression “free bricklayer”), the term Masonic lodge (Freemasonry lodge) was simply defined as the place where they were gathered for work. In other words, it was simply a workshop located outside the headquarters of the guild (eg in the cathedral). In such a lodge, purely technical (architectural) problems were dealt with. At the turn of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, when operational freemasonry began to transform into a speculative (or philosophical), the Masonic lodge began to be called a meeting place of “new type” Masons. The people who met in it no longer worked physically, but improved spiritually, following the paths of philosophy, science and enlightenment. At the same time, a deepened discussion was used (as the Greek philosophers did). A specific ceremony (called a ritual) was also preserved, which regulated, sometimes very meticulously, the manner of behavior in the lodge, clothes, mutual relations, etc. The author of the study identifies the origins of the described Masonic lodge in Malbork with the person of Major Tschaepelin, from the Russian occupation army stationed in Poland, which included several burghers, including the then mayor of Grube. The subject of the study is the functioning, activity, development and number of members of the Malbork Masonic lodge, which were different, especially considering political conditions and warfare. The material was supplemented with a personal list of officers, brothers, honorary members of the lodge, etc. Thanks to and the personal list of members of the lodge, it is known that during the first century of the lodge’s existence, 590 brothers passed through it, known both in the city itself and throughout Prussia, representing a number of different professions and professions. Publikacja wydana w Gdańsku w 1872 roku dokumentująca powstanie i działalności loży masońskiej "Victoria pod Trzema Ukoronowanymi Wieżami"(niem. Merienburg), której nazwa nawiązywała do przedstawienia herbu miasta. Początki funkcjonowania opisywanej loży masońskiej w Malborku autor opracowania utożsamia z osobą majora Tschaepelina, z rosyjskiej armii okupacyjnej stacjonującej w Polsce, do której należało kilku mieszczan, w tym ówczesny vice-burmistrz Grube.
