Dugas, Georges: 1833-1928. Born and educated in Quebec; ordained Catholic priest, 1862; to West as missionary, 1866; associated with Catholic education and the cathedral of Saint-Boniface, 1866-1887; during Red River Rebellion contributed anonymous articles to the French press of Quebec explaining the Métis point of view; returned to Quebec 1887; surname sometimes misspelled Dugast, even on title-pages (Morice, Dictionnaire historique ; Wallace, Dictionary of Canadian biography ). // A second series of stories: "Voies admirables de la Providence dans le salut des élus"; "Beau dévouement d'un jeune métis français an Nord-Ouest"; "Le chapelet chez les métis"; "Quelques traits de bravoure de nos canadiens au Nord-Ouest"; "La femme sauvage abandonnée"; "Le doigt de Dieu"; "Une prisonnière Pied-Noir rachetée par un missionnaire"; and "Genre de vie du sauvage."
