"The following letters originally appeared in the Polytechnic Review for February 1845 ...": t.p. verso. Notice to correspondents. LC copy is in a custom binding, perhaps made for the author. Blank leaves are bound in at end, upon which newpaper clippings (reviews) are mounted and 24 letters (3 are missing) are tipped in, mounted, sewn, or pinned.
