Zusammenfassung: This volume investigates the topic of Jesuss passion and resurrection with a broad scope, ranging from apocryphal gospels, such as the Gospel of Peter and the Gospel of Nicodemus, to Manichean texts and Coptic apocrypha from the sixth and seventh centuries. The ancient texts reinterpret Jesuss passion and resurrection in creative and diverse ways, for example by dramatizing the story or by emphasizing the cross as part of the divine plan of salvation Zusammenfassung: Die Beiträge dieses Bandes untersuchen das Thema der Passion und Auferstehung Jesu mit einem breiteren Fokus, der von apokryphen Evangelien wie dem Petrusevangelium und dem Nikodemusevangelium bis zu apokryphen Apostelgeschichten, manichäischen Texten und koptischen Apokryphen aus dem sechsten und siebten Jahrhundert reicht. Passion und Auferstehung Jesu werden in diesen Texten auf kreative Weise neu interpretiert, indem sie die Geschichte dramatisch inszenieren oder das Kreuz als Teil des göttlichen Heilsplans betonen Zusammenfassung: Non-canonical gospels and gospel traditions contribute in many ways to the reception and transmission of Jesus-related material and the memory of Jesus. This volume investigates the topic of Jesuss passion and resurrection with a broad scope, ranging from apocryphal gospels, such as the Gospel of Peter and the Gospel of Nicodemus, to apocryphal acts of the apostles, Manichean writings and Coptic apocrypha from the sixth and seventh century. Many of these texts, which are quite different in scope, may be described as »re-enactments« of Jesus stories, as they appear to be free retellings of the Jesus story adapted to the historical and religious situations in which they were performed. Thus, the texts reinterpret Jesuss passion and resurrection in creative and diverse ways, for example by dramatizing the story or by emphasizing the cross as part of the divine plan of salvation.Survey of contentsArmand Puig i Tarrèch: The Figure of Jesus in the Gospel of Peter – Ángel Narro: Jesuss Death and Resurrection in the Eyes of the Apocryphal Acts of the Apostles – Tobias Nicklas: Traditionen über Jesu Passion und Auferweckung in Pseudo-Hippolyts Peri Pascha – Jörg Frey: The Late Career of Nicodemus: The Reception and Expansion of the Gospel Story in the Acts of Pilate/Gospel of Nicodemus (Recension Greek A) – Chris Keith: The Narrative of Joseph of Arimathea and the Epistolary Jesus – Jean-Daniel Dubois: The Passion of Jesus in the Coptic Version of the Acts of Pilate – Anna Van den Kerchove: Jesuss Endurance within Some Manichaean Documents – Sarah Parkhouse: Mary and/or Mary: The Changing Traditions of the Marys at the Cross and the Tomb in Early Christian and Late Antique Gospel Retellings – Dylan Michael Burns: Pseudo-Evodius of Romes Anti-Judaism in Its Byzantine Context – Jens Schröter: Dancing around the Cross: The »Theology of the Cross« according to the Berlin-Strasbourg Apocryphon and the Qasr el-Wizz Codex within the Jesus Tradition – Thomas J.
