4to. pp. (16), 32, plus engraved portrait. Modern wrappers. Sole edition. A touching production printed at the behest of a Confraternity of Augustinian nuns devoted to Rita de Cascia. The nuns decided to commemorate their recently-deceased Mother Superior, Madrona Riera y Clarina (Barcelona, 1688-1744), by printing the text of her funerary sermon and engraving her portrait. This brief account of her life preceded a full hagiography published some 20 years later (in 1769).
