Ptie. 2 is the "Traite des superstitions, seconde partie, des superstitions qui regardent les Sacremens" by Thiers. Tables des chapitres summarize the contents of each part Bernard issued at least two printings of this title and dates, one petit papier and this one, grand papier, with different type settings and placement of the text, plates, preliminaries, etc. Both eds. have the same principal articles in t. 1: J.-B. Thiers' "Traité des superstitions selon l'Ecriture Sainte, les decrets des conciles, et les sentimens des Saints Pères et des theologians", originally published in Paris 1679, and: "Discernement des effets naturels d'avec ceux qui ne le sont pas, avec l'Histoire critique des pratiques superstitieuses, qui on séduit les peuples & embarassé les savans", by Le P. Le Brun, originally published in 1702. "Eloge historique du P. Le Brun, prêtre de l'Oratoire" has been provided, p. V-XVI. A dedication has been signed by "Bellon", reported (by the Bibliothèque Nationale) to have edited this posthumous text and published an edition of it. Each Getty edition has 12 leaves of plates, this grand papier ed. having one plate marked "Sup. to. 2. Remarq."in v. 2, which occurs in v. 1 of the petit papier ed These vols. are often included as v. 10 and 11 in Bernard's set, Ceremonies et coutumes religieuses de tous les peuples du monde, but display no bibliographic associations.
