4to: [1] blank leaf, [viii], 182, [2] p., [1] blank leaf ; 20 cm. "Isaaci Casauboni in L. Apulei Apologiam castigationes". p. [125]-182, has a separate t.p. Casaubon's edition of the Apologia, the text of a declamation by which Apuleius defended himself in court against accusations of practicing magic, among other charges. Casaubon dedicated his work to his friend Scaliger. Later hard boards. Spine title "Apuleius Apologia 1594". Repair on t.p. with ms. note "No. 25". Some brown stains. Small tear on p. 49-50, 137-138.
