Zusammenfassung: With his in-depth examination of ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Nābulusīs (d. 1143/1731) commentaries on Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf al-Sanūsīs (d. 895/1490) Creed, Hiroaki Kawanishi argues that the eleventh/seventeenth century Ottoman period was not a time of decline but of intellectual prosperity Zusammenfassung: In seiner Studie zu den Kommentaren des osmanischen Universalgelehrten ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Nābulusī (gest. 1143/1731) zum Glaubensbekenntnis des Maghrebī-Theologen Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf al-Sanūsī (gest. 895/1490) argumentiert Kawanishi, dass das 11./17. Jhdt., anders als oft behauptet, keine Zeit intellektueller Stagnation in der islamischen Welt war
