Printer from Mortimer, following BM STC Italian Architectural border of t.p. printed in black and yellow. Letterpress on t.p. printed in brown, yellow, blue, and red. Leaf 2v printed in black, yellow, red, and green. Running title on 7r and 8v in yellow Includes 11 full-page cuts, mostly depicting alchemical apparatus, and 3 smaller cuts. The sphere on 36r is from Pantheo's Ars transmutationis metallicae, printed by Tacuino in 1518-1519, and reduced, reversed copies of most of the cuts appeared in Vivant Gaultherot's Paris ed. of 1550; see Mortimer. The ill. on 47r and 48r are identical except for differing insets at lower right corners. Also included is double-page bird's-eye view of Venice (4v-5r). Woodcut capitals within double-line square outlines Signatures: A B-Q P Includes index (67v-69v) Mortimer, R. Italian 16th-cent. BM STC Italian, 1465-1600 Binding: heavy gray paper wrappers. Spine title in black ink: Voarchamia. Underlining and marginal annotations in brown ink throughout. Year at foot of text on t.p. (printed in yellow) has been reinforced by hand in black ink
