3 sheet ; 20 x 14 cm Manuscript Calligraphy, title devised by cataloger, Inscription of prayers for Talismans, black ink 13 lines per sheet, vocalized Naskh Hand, written on both sides Note are scraps of exercises in Arabic penmanship done by school children whose ordinary language was Persian. There are several notes in that language on two of the leaves and the Calligraphy is of the Persian type. The letters are awkward and childishly formed in a number of places the writers have ceased to follow their copy and have written out the alphabet by way of practice. The model set by the teacher can be seen in one of the fragments, but it is not free from mistakes. The copyists, however, abound in errors and their writing is at times quite illegible. The connected passages are largely filled with lists of the names of Allah, his attributes and the like, together with constant repetitions of the creed: "There is no God but Allah." The paper size for the other two leaves: 18 x 12, 18 x 11 Coarse brown paper, stained and smudged, the smallest leaf is damaged in various places
