Colophon date: anno domini M.D.XXXVIII. die V. mensis Iunii, regnante inclyto Andrea Griti principe [June 5, 1538] Text printed at left and right of center margin, surrounded by commentary with marginalia Title printed in red and black within woodcut cartouche decorated with leaves and flowers. At head of each section is woodcut ill. in three panels side by side (except that on N6v, depicting Sappho, which is in a single panel). An additional ill. on O6r depicts Ovid and Invidia. Initials Signatures: [cross]⁶ A-B⁸ C-I⁶ K⁸ L-S⁶ Includes two brief lives of Ovid at end
